Mirror of chivalric gallantry

... or through the world in the footsteps of Don Quixote. Open-air event with workshop and children’s playground.

Sunday 18. May 2014 15:00–18:00 — courtyard of Dům pánů z Kunštátu (house of the lords of Kunštát, now The Brno House of Arts), Dominikánská 9, CZ–60200 Brno.

(In case of bad weather, the event takes place inside the building.)

You might think that chivalrous ideals only can be found in dusty books nowadays, yet for more than four centuries Don Quixote is here with us, the Knight of the Sorrowful Countenance and an incorrigible dreamer. Although he never left the Spanish region La Mancha, his footsteps can be found around the world, more than any other literary hero. Musical Delicacies welcome you on this journey to discover the compositions he inspired — from Spain, the “empire on which the sun never sets”, with conquistadores to the New World and back again. Music and dances full of temperament from baroque Spain, love songs from France, English masques and Italian opera. In each of us there sleeps a bit of a knight, devoid of fear and shame.
